Pune is fortunate to be surrounded by a lot of historic places. One such place is the Barmotichi Vihir. Vihir is Marathi for a Well. A step-in well with rooms surrounding it. It must have been quite a spectacle in its glory days.
It still is marvelous, and one can imagine the engineering feat required to design and build it. It’s right bang in the middle of a village as well. So as the caravan of superbikes arrived, it did rattle the villagers a bit, and many people turned up to ask the most common question we get. How much does the bike cost, and what’s the average? Once all that excitement faded away, we were left alone to explore the architecture of the well and grab some Instagram worthy pics.
A short ride over decent roads to a marvelous destination. Sunday morning well spent. And kudos to the riders. Riders from 3 different groups riding together and no incidents occurred. The camaraderie amongst different groups is worthy of appreciation.
